Appling special effects to photographs are the most enjoyable projects in photo editing. Many factors in most special effects can be controlled such as intensity and spread, however a few are pure pot-luck. Heading in this direction an artist can only tweak certain parameters and wait to see what happens. The result is often surprising and fantastic!

| This is the original photograph, a bit under-exposed and heavy on the contrast side (you can see this picture in the photo gallery available for free download). The photo required a curves adjustment which brought up the exposure and clarity. The photo was then duplicated and the duplicate placed on top of the original. Changing the mode and opacity of the top copy provided the desired effect. The two photos were then merged and the background sky replaced with a blurred triple gradient. The vertical cables of the bridge were replaced and a slight glow added to them. Some texture was then added to the bridge, and the water below it. The shadow of the bridge on the water was also given a "ripple effect". | This finished

| Basic sepia toning is perhaps the easiest editing service we offer. It is merely a change in hue and saturation and does not take long at all. Adding a vignette to a sepia toned picture is a great way to further enhance the picture for framing and can be applied to any photograph. The enhanced sepia toning first applies the basic toning to the picture, then adds a more aged, canvas type look to the photograph. The photo at the bottom right displays an imaginative framing for the enhanced sepia toned photograph. |
